Click links above AND below for Tsunami coverage. In December 2004, a major earthquake followed by a tsunami hit Asia and Africa, devastating many coastal areas. Almost 200,000 people in eight countries perished in a few hours, and over 100,000 are still missing. Many more had their homes and livelihoods swept away. The coastal areas of Indonesia and Sri Lanka and two Indian island chains bore the brunt of the calamity. Just days later, Heather Bosch traveled to Sri Lanka to witness and report on the relief work that was underway to help the tsunami's many victims. While on assignment for KIRO Newsradio 710, Heather Bosch's radio reports included heart wrenching interviews with those who had lost everything, as well as the latest information on relief aid, plus photos and video from the devastated areas.
